Omnicom Group: Advertising to the World

In every industry, there’s always a top five heading the list in terms of size, reputation or wealth. Omnicom Group Inc. holds the title of being one of the “Big Four” in global advertising, marketing and corporate communications. With its headquarters on Madison Avenue, New York City, Omnicom is one of the world’s farthest-reaching ad agencies, with an employment base of over 68,000 people in 1,500 agencies providing services to more than 5,000 customers all over the world.

Omnicom was established in 1986 as a result of a merger between DDB, BBDO and Needham Harper Steers, all advertising agencies. Omnicom is headed by John D. Wren, CEO and President, and offers design, marketing, market research, digital and interactive marketing, strategic media planning, public relations, media buying, customer relationship marketing, branding and identity and other similar aspects of business. It has served and worked with some of the world’s largest and wealthiest corporations, among them the Russian government that has supposedly spent millions in its efforts at positive PR.
